Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, born on March 26, 1991 and professionally referred to as Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the debut female to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. The label released her first EP titled Pho in October 2016, and she was able getting noticed. Shea Butter Baby released her debut studio album on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox has been uploading her music since 2012 with her release of her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014, she continued to release her music on the web, including her own release single Bound. The 21st day of July, 2015, Omen included her in Elephant Eyes the track"Sweat It Out. J. Cole had her sing her songs for the Dreamville Team in the following year, as he wanted Rihanna to collaborate alongside her on some of the songs. The 8th of December was the day she revealed that she had officially signed by Dreamville Records. She made an appearance on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. In October of 2016 she dropped her debut EP Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017 in which she was joined by EarthGang. The singer also performed on the tracks Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus along with Bas the label's co-founders. Ari Lennox, on the 16th July, 2018 she released her debut single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video was released on September 5th. The second single she released was, Grampa on November 9. In November 13, she dropped two singles titled The No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released on her debut single, February 26, 2019, for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared with Cole on the Creed II sound track on November 16. It was released with a music video that was released on February 20, 2019 and surpassed 3 million views on YouTube within one week. As a support act she performed in concert with 6LACK in December of 2018 for The From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
